A structured way to separate signal from noise

Controlled Remote Viewing, usually shortened to CRV, is a structured approach developed through work associated with Ingo Swann and Stanford Research Institute. Declassified program material describes the method as dividing the detection and decoding of impressions into achievable stages. The structure is not a magic script that supplies an answer. It is a discipline for recording low-level impressions before the analytical mind turns them into a familiar object or story.

The historical name coordinate remote viewing came from early tasking with geographic coordinates. Those coordinates were not meant to tell the viewer where the target was; to the viewer they functioned as an arbitrary reference. Modern practice may use an equally opaque target identifier. The essential feature is blindness: the identifier cannot contain a useful clue, and the target information must remain inaccessible to the viewer while the record is being made.

From gestalt to detail

Accounts of the staged method commonly begin with broad gestalt-like qualities and rapid marks, then move through sensory data, dimensions, spatial relationships and increasingly detailed modelling. The exact teaching vocabulary varies among later schools. The durable principle is simpler: description precedes identification. Hard, cool, vertical, echoing and open are data-like fragments. Bridge, cathedral and missile silo are interpretations. An interpretation may eventually be relevant, but writing it as a naming event prevents it from silently taking over the session.

This platform uses three approachable passes rather than claiming to reproduce any proprietary CRV school. The first captures immediate forms and raw impressions. A real pause interrupts momentum. The second adds sensory and spatial detail. Another pause precedes a final drawing, relationships and confidence calls. Naming is flagged but never blocked. That gives beginners the core discipline without pretending that a short app flow replaces extended instruction.

Why feedback completes the practice

The record is locked before reveal, then compared with the target one element at a time. Immediate feedback helps a viewer learn which internal sensations tended to correspond and which developed into imagination. Both accuracies and errors are retained. Across repeated sessions, confidence calls can show whether the viewer is learning to recognise their own clearer signal.

CRV is therefore best understood as trained attention under blind conditions. The protocol creates a cleaner record; it does not guarantee a correct result. Progress comes from preserving the sequence, receiving honest feedback and returning rested rather than forcing session volume.
